SFE Launches Two Free-Market Contests!

Monthly newspaper contest

Prizes: $100 winner each month

Deadline: The last day of every month starting September, 2007

Description: The best free market column, cartoon or letter to the editor in a campus paper.

Guidelines: Content must be printed or published online in a Campus newspaper in Michigan. Just e-mail us the published version, and the name of the publication where it originally appeared as well as the date.

Investigative journalism contest

Prizes: $1,000 grand prize, two $500 runners up. Winner’s article will be published by MCPP.

Deadline: December 3, 2007

Description: Investigate and report the facts behind an issue relevant to free markets. Examples include government or university policies and their unseen effects, little-known government or university expenditures, or little reported triumphs of the free market.

Guidelines: Participants must be full or part-time students at a college or university in Michigan. 1,200 word limit. Material must be original, all data must be properly cited and all contributors properly credited. Submit entries by e-mail no later than December 3, 2007.
